Charming children's picture book about the trials & tribulations of owning a new puppy, & what the boy & girl owners need to do to get it trained properly. Both written & illustrated by Maurice Sendak, in the style of "Where the Wild Things Are." A FIRST EDITION, First Printing, from 1976, this hardcover octavo has brown cloth over boards lettered in gilt to spine. An Ex-Lib copy, with the usual stamps & markings & free front endpaper excised (likely where old card pocket was glued), condition is nonetheless Good: quite clean, text block secure but pages a bit loosened due to loss of front hinge. Pages white & unmarked, colors bright. The unclipped DJ is VG- (minus), having been protected under old library mylar, which has been removed (some paper residue from backing still glued to insides of both covers) & replaced with new. Modest rubbing & slight chipping to all corners & both ends of spine, old library paper call number sticker to spine. modestly tanned but completely unmarked. Mild rubbing to extremities, lightly bumped corners. The unclipped DJ is nicely protected in new clear mylar cover free!
