New York: Oxford University Press, 1959. First Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. Near Fine in a Very Good jacket, unclipped ($6.00), rubbed at the edges, a few small chips and closed tears. Black buckram, rubbed at the bottom edge and corners, with white and blue ink lettering on the spine and front board. Square and firmly bound, toned at the endpapers, especially the back from old newspaper clippings about police segregation in Harlem. An early work of sociology by one of its most prominent practitioners.
