About This Item
This volume is a very early reprint of the first edition, published by Scribner. An early reprint as it still retains the error of the first edtion, the word 'thought' printed as 'hou gt' on page 44, at the bottom.
First editions of this book in good condition cost hundreds of dollars. This was Will James most popular story, and illustrated by the author as he illustrated the great majority of his short stories and books. This work won the Newberry Medal in 1927.
The hardcover is in VG condition for its age. Tight binding, square corners, no marks to the text except former owner's name and address of FFE. Some age toning to pages.
A beautifu copy of a Western classic for children is very good condition.
