Jacksonville, IL: Harris-Wolfe & Company, 1967. Stated first edition. Ink inscription by author on second leaf: 'For Robert Lee' , who was then one of the owners of the New Era Bookstore in Baltimore and a member of the Communist Party. Harkey, a white publisher and journalist in Mississippi, was the target of several hate crimes for his anti-segregationist views, one of which was a burning cross on his lawn. These events are the basis for this book, which also became the subject of a documentary film. Book very good with waterstains at foreedge (only), edgewear to cover. A unique copy and extremely rare. 207 pp.. Signed by Author. 1st Edition. Soft Cover. Very Good.

Ownership signature "Ric" and short note on the upper wrapper. Wrappers a little toned at the extremities, lightly rubbed, lower corner bumped, contents faintly toned. A very good copy.
