About This Item
London: Wishart, 1930. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. (London: Wishart & Company 1930). First UK Edition, First Impression. Publisher's pale green boards with gilt lettering to the spine. 5" x 7.75",158 pages. Previous owner's signature on the front free end-paper. The textblock is clean and bright with tight binding. The boards are well preserved with crisp edges. Just a hint of sunning to the spine and a slither of discolouration to the spine tips (matching miniscule wear to the dustwrapper). The gilt lettering on the spine is clear and vibrant. Overall a VG++ copy. The dustwrapper is in VG+ condition with darkening to the spine and with a slither of loss to the top edge of the front panel. Shows well. John "Jack" Butler Yeats (29 August 1871 - 28 March 1957) is remembered primarily as an artist, though he had a significant interest in theatre and literature. He was the youngest son of Irish portraitist John Butler Yeats, and the brother of the Nobel Prize winning poet William Butler Yeats. Photographs/scans available upon request.
