About This Item

Gerald Duckworth, London, 1990. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good Condition/Very Good. Second-hand copy with no damage to report, photographic illustrated dust jacket has the damage. The book is illustrated with a number of black-and-white plates. Alan Watkins has been writing a political column for 25 years, when in 1988, he found himself in the Law Courts accused of liable. This book details the history of the case, and the plaintiff lost,, the first in over 50 cases to lose to a journalist. The trial was also exceptional and may be unique in that a politician was suing a political journalist who was himself a qualified barrister. The principal defendant now gives an always lucid and sometimes hilarious account of it, making full use of the original sources at his disposal. – Front fold over blurb the book is indexed, has a select bibliography and biographical details at the rear. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. please refer to accompanying picture (s). Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilo.
