The classic book on Utah's Canyon Country, which combines stunning full-color pictures by landscape photographer and conservationist Philip Hyde with text by Edward Abbey - a book which captures the beauty of this area and makes an argument for the preservation of its wilderness. While only the original 1971 date is shown, this includes a one page update on "The Situation" by June Viavant, which dates it as late 1973 or early 1974. Full color photos throughout, printed on heavy glossy stock. Includes Abbey's notes and a bibliography. Large format. 144 pp.
