About This Item

New York: Random House, 1971. First Edition, First Printing. . Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. The thirteenth novel in Stark/Westlake's noir crime series featuring Parker, the stone-cold killer and holdup man. Chance once again throws Parker a curve as a carefully planned armored car robbery goes bad and Parker finds himself alone, with the stolen money, hiding in an amusement park closed for the winter as a contingent of local mobsters and crooked cops close in. Boards show a touch of edgewear; front end pages show a glue stain (though such a stain might indicate an ex-library copy, this book has no stamps, card pockets or any other signs of ex libris damage). Text shows several pages lightly wrinkled but not discolored in small area near fore edge as if by a few drops of water, o/w boards and text are clean and unmarked, tight and square. No remainder marks. The dustjacket shows light age-tanning while the laminate is almost wholly undamaged. A bit of edgewear, o/w dj has no tears, no creasing or chipping, not price-clipped. A very nice copy of one of the scarcest books in this legendary series.
