About This Item
E-264. Very Good. Hardcover. Hardcover. 8vo. Harper & Brothers, New York. 1910. Illustrated. Unpaginated. First Edition/First Printing. Bound in blue cloth boards with illustrated pastedown present to the front board. Boards have shelf-wear and rubbing present to the extremities. Previous owner's name present to the FFEP. Text is free of marks. Binding tight and solid. Long before Richard Scarry or Dr. Seuss, an American artist delighted a generation of children and their parents with hilarious, topsy-turvy illustrations and slightly subversive tales told in rhyme. This was illustrator/author Peter Newell. In The Slant Book, a go cart, a newsboy, and the force of gravity make for a most excellent adventure in a busy American town. As an added bonus, the book is actually set on a slant! ! EB; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
