New York, NY: A.S. Barnes and Company , 1940 A.S. Barnes and Company, New York. 1940. Hardcover. Edition/Printing not stated. The Barnes Sports Library. Book is tight, square, and unmarked. Book Condition: Good; wear and small tears to head and tail; shelfwear to head, tail, and tips; light wear to spine; wear through paper at tips. No DJ. Ecru paper over boards and spine with black lettering on the spine and front board. 88 pp 8vo. This book is for anyone who comes from a small town where there are just not enough boys to form an 11-man team, so 6-man will have to do. The game originated in 1934 and has a totally different set of rules but fundamentally is played like the 11-man game. This book covers the fundamentals of the game from blocking and tackling to offensive and defensive plays and care of injuries. A clean very presentable copy.
