One of Robert Dale Owen's pamphlets, with the final page being the 'Benefits of Responsible Government' by William Maclure. Robert Dale Owen (1801-1877), son of Robert Owen, and briefly a member of the US Congress. William Maclure (1767-1840), merchant, geologist and philanthropist, who made the first attempt at a geological map of the US. Stammhammer has an 1845 edition also published by Watson, Stammhammer I:167; Goldsmiths 31279 notes an edition of ?1839. Reprint. Paper Covers. Good. 12mo. Pamphlet.
