Signed limited edition of Isherwood's highly-regarded work, adapted into the film of the same name directed by fashion designer Tom Ford and starring Colin Firth and Julianne Moore. Quarto, bound in full morocco with gilt titles and ruling to the spine, marbled endpapers. One of 400 copies signed by the author on the colophon. In fine condition. Set in California during 1962, A Single Man follows the events of a single day in the life of George, a lonely gay middle-aged professor at a Los Angeles University. In 2009, fashion designer Tom Ford produced an American drama film of the same name. Ford's directorial debut, the film stars Colin Firth, who was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of George Falconer, and Julianne Moore. The film received the Grand Prix from the Belgian Syndicate of Cinema Critics.
