In Silent Spring Revolution, the author Douglas Brinkley chronicles the rise of environmental activism during the Sixties (1960-1973), telling the story of an indomitable generation that saved the natural world under the leadership of JFK, LBJ, and Richard Nixon.

After Truman dropped the atomic bomb to end the war, a grim new epoch arrived. The government was testing additional nuclear weapons and nuclear fallout was a health concern along with radio active materials that contaminated ecosystems.

The author pays tribute to those leaders who recognized the threats and combated the assault on the natural world.
