Typewritten letter, 25cm x 20cm. 1pp. signed and addended in blue ink to Lieut.-Col. Sir Thomas Moore, C.B.E., M.P. 186 Piccadilly W1. On headed notepaper, dated 23rd January 1948. Regarding the Yugoslav Aid Committee, mentioning the Duchess of Atholl, Moore's son-in-law James Harrower and Moore's daughter Priscilla. Short fold split to edge.
Leslie Hore-Belisha, 1st Baron Hore-Belisha Liberal MP, Cabinet Minister, Secretary of State for War, dismissed in 1940, revealing widespread anti-Semitism in government. Oswald Mosely calling him a "Jewish Warmonger", Henry Pownall called him a "political jewboy". H.G. Wells named him in "The Shape of Things to Come" 1934 – prophetically it turned out. Lieut. Col. Sir Thomas Cecil Russell Moore MP for Ayr 1925-1964. In the 1930's he publicly supported Adolf Hitler and the policies of Nazism.
