About This Item
Tokyo: Shinchosha, 1986. Hardcover. 143 pg. hardcover with original paper band. Illustrated with color and black and white photographs. Very good. The Showa era, which lasted from 1926 to 1989, saw Japanese society undergo many different changes from the rise in militarism in the 1930s and 40s to the period of American occupation in the 1950s, and then periods of civil unrest in the 60s and 70s. The book reflects such changes in its featuring of modernist as well as proletarian literature.
