Extra nice copy of this scarce book from McIntosh County, Georgia. Clean and tight , with no writing or marking and no wear to exterior of book Over the years the book has developed a few dust spots on page edges, but none to interior of book. Jacket has been covered since 1998 and has no wear. 190 pages, First Edition, first printing. Twenty-five Shout Songs with lyrics and music. Text incorporates oral history, first person accounts, photographs, and drawing. The ring shout was performed for the purpose of religious worship, a fusion of dance, song and percussion survives today in the Boldon community of McIntosh County, Georgia. Art Rosenbaum is a painter, draftsman, muralist, folk musician, and professor of Art at the Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia.
