*A Shoal of stars ** ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Hugh Malcolm Downs (born February 14, 1921) is a long-time American broadcaster, television host, news anchor, TV producer, author, game show host, and music composer; and is perhaps best known for his role as co-host the NBC News program Today from 1962 to 1971, host of the Concentration game show from 1958 to 1969, anchor of the ABC News magazine 20/20 from 1978 to 1999. In addition, he's served as announcer/sidekick for The Tonight Show Starring Jack Paar, host of the PBS talk show Over Easy and co-host of the syndicated talk show Not for Women Only. Downs is also known for his non-fiction writing including his classic A Shoal of Stars: A True-Life Account of Every man's Dream: Sailing Across the Pacific to Exotic Lands....... Small hard cover book in very good condition. Dark blue cloth covered boards and spine with silver titling are very good, boards do show slight fading at edges and light scuffing at the head and foot of spine. Light brown endpapers cut from a heavy stock are very good, clean, not marked. Pages are very good clean unmarked - but showing slight tanning at edges from age. Dust jacket is good, not torn but has some edge wear, inside corner of fold is clipped.......
