About This Item

Cambridge: Granta, 1998. A Fine unmarked copy with Fine dustjacket. The tradition of brewing quality beers from local materials in Faversham dates back to before King Stephen and Queen Matilda founded the Great Abbey in 1147. Such was the excellence of the local spring water and barley for malting that, over the ensuing centuries, a number of brewhouses were established in the area. Shepherd Neame is a descendant of one of them. The book records the development of the Company over the past 300 years. Illustrated throughout. C3F. First Edition. Hard Cover. Fine/Fine. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
