Morrill, Alfred R. Morrill, and Layne Morrill, the son, grandson, and granddaughter of Levi Morrill, the postmaster of Uncle Ike's Post Office. Book is tight, square, and unmarked. Book Condition: Near Fine; light bumping to tail and upper rear tip; slight fading to tinted textblock top. Harold Bell Wright, an ailing minister-author who traveled to the Ozarks for his health discovered much more than he sought in the hill country. As he regained his strength in the healthful, peaceful atmosphere, he began writing a manuscript which would become the fourth most widely-read book in publishing history. It would also spark a nationwide interest and bring the first wave of tourism into the Missouri Ozarks. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket. Synopsis
The Shepherd of the Hills is a book written in 1907 by author Harold Bell Wright. It depicts a mostly fictional story of mountain folklore and has been translated into seven languages since its release. It is also depicted in a popular outdoor play numerous times each week in eleven of twelve months each year, in Branson, Missouri. The play features more than 80 actors, 40 horses, and an actual nightly burning of the cabin.
