[New York]: [Limited Editions Club], [1955]. Original Art. About Fine, housed in the large original envelope from the Club. Genuinely unique. Honore Guilbeau. The complete publisher's archive of 103 ORIGINAL pen-and-brush drawings by Honore Guilbeau used for the book including 34 not used but present here. Most are on 9-3/4" x 11-1/2" paper with a few on smaller sheets. All are numbered in pencil with dimensions in the lower right corner and occasionally with annotations. Housed in a paper folder with "The George Macy Companies, Inc." printed on it along with "Proofs : Manuscript : Drawings." Also included are proofs of all of the engravings.

An American painter, printmaker and illustrator, Honore Guilbeau first began to exhibit her art in Cleveland and elsewhere around 1930. During the 1930's Depression era she worked mainly in the medium of lithography, contributing at least three such works of art to the Ohio Chapter of the Works Progress Administration (W.P.A.). During the 1940's and 1950's, Honore Guilbeau illustrated a number of fine books, including works for the Limited Editions Club: Twain's A CONNECTICUT YANKEE IN KING ARTHUR'S COURT, THE ADVENTURES OF HAJJI BABA, and THE SHAVING OF SHAGPAT.
