The author was born in Shaker Heights, OH where she inherited her love and understanding of the Shakers and a manuscript of specially compiled recipes which are the foundation of this book. To the Shakers, preparing food was a joyous task and they were the first in America to can food commercially the Shaker way. This volume brings together time-tested Shaker recipes for all varieties of foods and diets. This book provides ideas about food that are heart-warming and reminiscent of the communal Shaker kitchens throughout the land. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
