About This Item
Ottawa: Oberon Press [0-88750-168-0] 1975. (Oblong 4to hardcover) np. Very good plus in very good dust jacket. Color illustrations. The dust jacket is lightly worn with a 1-inch closed tear along the bottom of the spine. "Tagoona spent his boyhood along the northwestern shore of Hudson Bay. He hunted with his father and as a young man spent three carefree years living off the land around the small community of Baker Lake... But his life was to take a different course: he was ordained in the Anglican Church and went on to establish the Christian Arctic Fellowship. His writing and art are full of the images of traditional Eskimo life and legend, many of which will soon be lost, even to memory. This is a sorrow that Tagoona accepts while at the same time searching for new ways to affirm the dignity and integrity of his people". Introduction by George Swinton. Designed by Michael Macklem. Locale: Canada; Hudson Bay. (Art--Canada, Arctic Life, Arctic/Polar, Art, Art--Inuit, Canadian Artists).
