About This Item
Palgrave Macmillan, Basingstoke, Hants, United Kingdom, 2000. First Edition. Softcover. Very Good Condition. XIV, 258 pages, last three pages blank, includes bibliography/references, index. This book is not only a survey of the Holocaust period in Poland and beyond, but goes one step further -- it attempts to uncover the sources and origins of Polish animosity towards the Jews. To understand what happened during the war one must go back to prewar Poland. Polish anti-Semitism did not begin with the German occupation. It existed in Poland for a long time, but came to surface when Poland regained her independence in 1918 after 150 years of foreign rule -- page XIII. Leo Cooper was Senior Research Associate at the Contemporary Europe Research Centre and Russian and Euro-Asian Studies Centre, both at the University of Melbourne. A little creasing of the book corners with some rubbing of the book edges and panels. Size: Trade Paperback. Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Quantity Available: 1.
