The text is illustrated with eight pages of black and white photography between pages 148 and 149. Photographic paperback binding with black and white coloured titles to the front panel and white coloured titles to the back strip. This book was first published in Sweden in 1969, and has been translated into English by Keith Bradfield. The author spent two years in Latin America going through the various countries documenting Third World problems. He spoke to both the wealthy and the crushingly poor, witnessed corruption at all levels, the reprisals waiting for the politically active, and untold acts of police brutality; and, " ... Drawing on anecdotes, recorded conversations and personal impressions, it sets the political upheavals contemporary Latin America in their social context." Â from rear panel blurb. Creasing of the book corners and there is a large increase to the top right hand corner of the front panel. Reading crease to the back strip with, noticeable rubbing of the edges, either side of the back strip and to the panels. Browning with foxing of the text block edges with light browning of the pages. Scattered fine foxing and browning of the first few and last few pages of the book with gift inscription and previous owners name to the half title page.
