About This Item
The First UK printing published by Heinemann, London in 1968. The BOOK is in near Fine condition. Some very light pushing at the spine tips and some mild toning to the upper text-block. The gilt titling remains bright. Free from inscriptions. A very faint impression of a previous pencil price erasure to the upper front end-paper - mentioned only for completeness. A handful of pages have a light crease to the upper corners. The WRAPPER is complete and is in near Fine condition with just some tiny rubs and faint age related markings in places. The Michael English wrapper artwork looks striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. The author's scarce third book and the winner of the 1969 Somerset Maugham prize. The centrepiece of her 'Bristol Trilogy' preceded by 'Shadow Dance' in 1966 and followed by 'Love' in 1971. Scarce. Ashton Rare Books welcomes direct contact.
