The Servant in the House

by Kennedy, Charles Rann

Condition: Very Good/Good

New York, NY: Harper and Brothers, 1908. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. Embossed purple cloth boards with dust jacket; 8.25 x 5 inches; [5], 152 pages; black and white photographs of characters from the play. Boards are a vivid purple, but it is difficult to represent that in the photo. Boards rubbed and worn at extremities, tiny and faint char mark on front board, previous owner's name in pencil in front end paper, small piece of the top edge of the front end paper has been torn away where it might have had an ownership sticker, untrimmed edges, pages lightly toned from age, binding sound. Dust jacket is tattered at edges with tanning, soiling, and small burn mark on front panel, now in a protective mylar cover. The Servant in the House is a five-act play set in England. It had six productions on Broadway between 1908 and 1926, and was made adapted into a silent film in 1918.
