London: Geoffrey Bles, 1966. Hardback. Near Fine. FIRST EDITION. 8vo. Original brown buckram, spine lettered in gilt. Pushing to spine ends, scatter of spots to top edge, else, clean and bright. In Elizabeth Andrewes' mellow illustrated dust jacket: spine darkened, light edgewear, creasing to spine ends. A lovely copy. Very good/ very good A second generation novelist, Julia Birley (b. 1928) is the daughter of the playright and author Margaret Kennedy and provided the new introduction to Virago's reissue of Kennedy's Together and Apart.
