About This Item
London: Printed for F. and C. Rivington..., 1792. . FIRST EDITION. 8vo, pp. xi [xii], 439 [440 blank], contemporary tree calf, spine ornately gilt in compartments, morocco label; front cover holding by one cord, rear joint cracked. Little seems to be known about Sellon (d. 1790), except that he was perpetual curate of St James's, Clerkenwell. The sermons were published unrevised after his death. One of the sermons is on the "National Advantages of the Magdalen Charity," and five other sermons were preached at the Magdalen Chapel. ESTC T116177 locates copies in the BL, NLS, Cambridge University Library, National Library of Wales, Glasgow University Library, University of Wales Lampeter, and University of Leeds Brotherton Library. No copies traced in North American libraries.
