About This Item

Birmingham: Cadell and Davies, Rivingtons and R. Baldwin, 1811. Two volumes - Volume One - xxxix, [1], 247pp, [1] and Volume Two - xii, [2], 282pp. Full straight grain morocco, smooth backs, divided into six panels by gilt rules and gilt bands, covers with inner blind roll bordered by thick elaborate gilt frame, with medallions to corners, gilt roll to edges and inner edges, a.e.g., small shell marbled endpapers. Slightly rubbed to extremities, small amount of loss to gilt to upper cover of volume two, internally quite bright and clean. From the library of Earl Eldon, the Lord Chancellor, with his name and bookplate to endpapers. A handsome binding, probably bound as a presentation copy to Eldon as he heads the subscribers list and is the subject of the printed dedication by the late authors wife (pp xxiii-xxiv). Five locations on COPAC (not at Lambeth). First Edition. Full Morocco. Very Good. 8vo.
