London & New York: Constable and Co. Ltd. / Alfred A. Knopf, 1927. First edition thus. . Hardcover. Good. Thick octavos (standard size). Some wear to edges and corners of boards. Cloh spines have slight fading and some spoting, but gilt titles and portcullis designs still very legible. Boards have some scuffing to covers. Name of former owner on title pages and first endpapers. Hinge at endpapers of v. 1 a little weak, but otherwise all good. 229 and 227 p. respectively. An attractive set, reproducing the version of Seneca in English available at the time of Shakespeare, with an interesting introduction by the poet T. S. Eliot in v. 1.
