UK,12mo paperback minus dw/j,illustrated 1st edn.[Penguin catalogue - published date May,1938] VG++.No owner inscrptn, no publisher's price to card covers.Bright,crisp and reasonably clean,given book's 83-year-old age,orange+white front cover with black letters and b/w wood-engraving illustration by Iain Macnab, orange spine with b/w Penguin logo to foot and black lettering, rear cover with bright,crisp,clean orange background with black text/letters for other 9 titles within the first 10 volumes of the Penguin Illustrated Classics series; with negligible shelf-wear, bumping,creasing to edges and corners - no majors tears or splits.Spine/backstrip with no reading creases but a pair of approx. 5mm vertical splits - still in situ - at spine's foot on it's outward-facing edges.Top edges aged/toned and darker than the fore-edges which are less toned; contents bright,tight, clean,solid and sound even with slight page-edge toning and some sporadic, random foxing to some pages' margins - no dog-ear reading creases to any pages' corners - appearing unread,apart from my own collation.UK,12mo paperback, illustrated 1st edn,7-245pp [paginated] includes an introduction by G. B.
