Sunning to spine, with some crushing to ends. Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some light marking and sunning. Unclipped jacket showing original price has moderate edge wear with chips, tears and creasing.

The Hogarth Press, 'The New Hogarth Library' series, London, 1941. Book. Near Fine. Hardcover. 1st Edition. First Edition (first printing). Small 8vo. 78pp. Red boards lettered in blue at the spine. Contemporary former owner name neatly inked to the head of the front free endpaper, and half a dozen small instances of fox spotting to the margins of the rear pastedown. Printed on very slightly substandard economy wartime paperstock, yet still a virtually fine copy in tanned and lightly chafed non-price-clipped dust wrapper. Twenty-five poems, plus eleven extracts from 'The Land'. Three of these poems here make their first bookform appearance, and two others ('September 1939' and 'Dig-Dog') appear in print here for the very first time (contrary to the unaccredited editorial note). 2,500 copies were printed.
