A first edition of Saul Bellow's novel featuring Tommy Wilhelm, in the original dust wrapper. First edition, in the publisher's original dark green cloth binding, with the original dust wrapper, which has been price-clipped. Written by Canadian-American author, Saul Bellow, who was known for his novels and short stories. Seize the Day is Bellow's fourth novel and was adapted into a film starring Robin Williams and Jerry Stiller in 1986. This novel tells the story of a day in the life of Tommy Wilhelm, a failed middle-age actor. Wilhelm is separated from his wife, children and father, despite living near to them. This novel shows Wilhelm examining his life, trying to accept the burden of self. In the publisher's original dark green cloth binding, with the original, price-clipped dust wrapper. Externally, lovely, with minor shelf wear only. Light offsetting to endpapers. Dust wrapper is smart, with light edge wear and one closed tear to the front of the wrap. The odd mark to the wrap, with a touch of age toning and light offsetting to the reverse. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Near Fine
