Quarter black calf with gilt lettering and rules and black cloth. 336pp, (8pp), 424pp. Glossy decorative endpapers, marbled page edges. Very good. Faintest of faint edgewear -- almost a "Near fine." A superb, tight, handsome first German edition of this short and squat 2-volumes-in-1, entirely in German, translated by the noted German author/translator/reformer Hirsch (1829-1902). Henrik von Trolle (1730-84) was a distinguished Swedish naval officer. Title translation: "The Sea Officer. Historical Narratives from the Time of Gustav III.
