About This Item

[New York]: Cordier & Ekstrom Gallery, 1964. [82] pp. Perfect-bound printed wrappers, with Duchamp's doorway image extending slightly beyond the rest of the wrapper, and reproduced in blind on the rear panel. Some tanning and soiling to covers, some surface wear, especially to edges, as almost always seen due to the extension of the doorway image. Foreword and texts by Richard Hamilton. Extensive black and white illustrations, three tipped-in color plates. Three thousand copies were printed at the Ram Press in New York, this copy for the exhibition at the Milwaukee Art Center later in 1965. "... the first and the most inclusive Duchamp retrospective to be held by a private gallery in the United States." (Schwarz).
