This classic text presents a detailed photographic history and pioneering photography techniques of the famed Scottish photographer Lachlan McLean, who immigrated to Colorado in 1872, and settled in the Idaho Springs, Georgetown, and Central City region of the Colorado Rockies, all of which were active mining districts. McLean was renown for his unique underground photography, as well as standard above ground pictures of mining camps, mines, and mining people. 82 pgs. 77 plates. Frontispiece photograph of McLean.
