Volume 2 only: 359, [1] p.; 17 cm. Signatures: A-P12 (12mo). Contemporary Cambridge style calf with six spine compartments between raised bands; gilt-tooled "2" in second compartment. Sensitive modern repair to spine and hinges (restorer's report available on request). Publishers' advertisements follow text on p. 359 and on final unpaginated page. Woodcut head- and tailpieces, and initials. These presumably fictitious letters have been attributed to David Jones, secretary to the Marquis de Louvois. In Very Good Condition: sensitive modern repair to spine and hinges; leather is rubbed, with minor loss at ends of spine; lacking free endpapers; occasional soiling and faint dampstaining; otherwise clean and tight.
