About This Item

The First UK printing published by Methuen, London in 1982. The BOOK is in Very Good++ or better condition with light pushing at the spine tips and mild bumping at the lower corners. Light toning to the text-block and page edges due to the quality of the paper stock used. The WRAPPER is complete and is in near Fine condition with some very light pushing at the spine tips and a little light toning to the spine. The wrapper is protected in a removable Brodart archival cover. The book has been inscribed and signed by the author to the front blank end-paper : 'To Joan, with very best wishes , from Sue Townsend, Hope you enjoy Adrian's secrets!'. B/W line drawings throughout by Caroline Holden. The scarce first title in the acclaimed series and included on the BBC News list of the '100 most influential novels'. Successfully adapted for Radio, TV and stage. Very uncommon to find signed. More images available on request. Ashton Rare Books welcomes direct contact.
