About This Item
Synopsis
The Secret by Rhonda Byrne is a self-help book that proposes the law of attraction as the key to achieving success and happiness. The author suggests that positive thoughts can attract positive outcomes, and negative thoughts can attract adverse outcomes. The book offers guidance on how to use visualization, gratitude, and positive affirmations to manifest one's desires. Byrne, a television producer in Australia, fell into a depression after her father's death in 2004. Her daughter gave her a book, The Science of Getting Rich (2010), by the New Thought author Wallace Wattles which inspired Byrne to create the documentary film The Secret , released on March 23rd, 2006. Later that year, a book of the same name was published. Since then, the book has sold over 30 million copies and has been translated into 50 languages.
