About This Item
nd New York. Near fine. 1927. 1st edition. Cream cloth stamped in gilt and brown. #464/1050. With eight full -page color illustrations by Alastair. The illustration opposite page 52 is signed in pencil, below the image. . in red and black, illustrations in red, sepia, and black. Condi tion: very good-near fine. A clean, tight copy that presents near ly fine. Covers: A small soil smudge about ½âx1â on both pan els near center of spine; otherwise fine with no bumping or rubbi ng. Internally: near fine -- some light toning and spotting to f ront matter pages occasionally very faint foxing; this appears to be a defect in the paper, not external damage [see photos] -- no t affecting any of the plates which were printed on different sto ck. We have handled several copies of this book and this is the n icest copy we have seen. The slipcase is in fair condition. Ful ly intact but partially split at spine, chipped at bottom spine, surface wear, rubbing to extremities; small inked marking below f ront label, small stain at right edge corresponds to the soiling on the covers and probably due to removing the book with unclean hand. .

About Armadillo & Dicker Books & Ephemera
80 Years of Selling Things People Could Easily Live Without -- but now Online only.*****CONDITION: We are conservative graders. If we say FINE you can count on it. If there are any minor defects [e.g. minor shelf-wear] they will be noted. VERY GOOD means there is light shelf or surface-wear, possibly some light age-toning, maybe a prior owner's inked name inside -- but no significant defects. GOOD means we wish we had a better copy too, but still in collectable condition. Any significant defects will be noted. FAIR usually means the interior is good or better but the covers are heavily worn. POOR means both the interior and the covers are damaged. Again, significant defects will be noted.
