The marine life of the seashores of the Pacific Coast is a historicaly important work; a monumental breakthrough in equality for women considering that it was written 89 years ago, it was the second book written about the California Seahore and 12 years before Ed Ricketts' book, Between Pacific Tides, in 1939. Considered the bible of the seashore by naturalists and teachers for many years; reprinted by Dover publication, unabridged and unaltered edition in 1967, it is now considered a collectible albeit outdated text. ; 8vo .
