New York: Dodd, Mead and Company , 1934. Cloth. Very Good. 9" by 6". Various. A sixth printing of 'In Search of Ireland' released in November 1934, copiously illustrated and a map on the endpapers. Part of the 'In Search of...' series written by the notable journalist and travel writer, Henry Vollam Morton. Morton's first vignette 'In Search of England' (1927) was an instant success, readily becoming a bestseller, that led to a subsequent vast expansion of the series. Other texts in the series include: 'In Search of Scotland' and 'In Search of London'. Very attractive pictorial paste downs and free-endpapers, depicting a 'A Map of Ireland'. Collated, complete. In a green cloth binding with pictorial front board. Externally, generally smart. Faded to spine. Rubbed slightly to front and rear joint. Slightly bumped to extremities. Very slight wax dripping to front and rear joints and fore edge of rear board. Very faint and slight tidemark to front pastedown and recto of front free-endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean, spotted to the first and last few pages. Slightly browned to edges. Ink inscription by prior owner to free-endpaper: Grace Wood. Small tear to lower extremity of page 32. Very Good
