About This Item

Published by Vintage Press, New York; 1983. 8vo. 81pp. First edition. **Signed by the author**. Condition: Fine/Near Fine.

Bound in original dark blue cloth binding with title in silver to the spine. Other than some slight bumping to the spine ends and corners, the binding is in excellent condition, clean and free from marking.

Inside, the pages are clean and bright, free from damage or blemishes and in lovely condition. The book is signed and inscribed by the author to the ffep.

The book is housed in its original dust jacket, which is in bright, smart condition, with just a little wear to the edges, including a few very small closed tears.

Overall, the book is in very smart condition, and will sit well on any shelf, in any collection. The author draws on his life experience to create four deeply touching tales, with characters whose lives and experiences are caught in the crosscurrents of European life. The settings are varied and diverse, ranging from an archetypal sea voyage, to artists and musicians in a metropolis and again to death among vacationers at a continental resort.
