Corners of boards lightly bumped. Missing frontis; though does still contain the further 31 pages of plates. A lovely reading copy; textblock tight and clean. near fine First hand account of the "St. George" expedition to the South Pacific. Comissioned by the Scientific Expeditionary Research Association, the vessel travelled the area for over a year, beginning in 1924. The author served as the official naturalist and in addition to his work on butterflies and beetles, wrote a private account of his observations during the journey. Quite scarce.
