About This Item

J.H. Campbell, 1875. Hardcover. Very Good. Scrapbook compiled by Rev. J.H. Campbell documents his expulsion from the Universalist Church where he was pastor, in Susquehanna Depot Pennsylvania in 1875. He was charged with "filthy criminality" and "evil". I can't deduce the actual crime the pastor committed - just these general charges. The scrapbook is approximately 80 pages and consists largely of clippings about the scandal. All orders packed with care, independent bookseller since 2011
