Wellington: John Mackay, Government Printer. Fair with no dust jacket. 1909. First Edition. Softcover. Covers rubbed and creased. 1" tear at tail of paper spine. Staples rusted. Corners of some leaves dog-eared. A 3" tear and a couple of misfolds to the folding map. The illustrations are mostly of fish and the netting equipment. One unusual illustration shows a man sitting in the water on top of the trawling net as it is being brought in, being supported by the mass of snapper in the haul - "So great is the buoyancy of a large haul of schnapper when drawn from deep water that the mass is capable of supporting for some time the weight of a man."; 116 pages + 23 plates + colour folding map. Printed green wrappers. Page dimensions: 213 x 139mm. Owner's ex-libris label on title page "Dr CNS [Corrie] McLachlan".; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
