About This Item
Avernus 1988 (1st UK). Soft cover. New. Scarce title and the first Brian Aldiss book under the Avernus imprint. In October 1987 Brian Aldiss took to the road with a theatrical selection of his best stories and fantastic, mind wrenching speculations. The critic in Matrix called SCIENCE FICTION BLUES possibly the best piece of SF theatre Ive seen. In his Introduction to this books Robert Holdstock recalls an evening of splendidly visual special effects all done by words that managed to indulge all the sense, all the moods . . . The feeling was one of something very special. Publication was timed to coincide with the 1988 World Fantasy Convention, at which an abridged version of the programme was performed. This is a very happy book, with photographs of the performers. Also, with the book is 'The Collector's Programme with 3 new unpublished Aldiss stories. Scarce. A copy of Aldiss' original manuscript one page itinerary for the evening. Written out like a Band would write the order of their songs. All items in Fine condition.
