About This Item

Frankfurt/Main: Nissen, Oskar, 1959. First Edition. Wraps. Near Fine. First Edition. 20 leaves. 8vo. Cloth wrappers. A reproduced typescript with 18 tipped in photographs for a paper presented before the Frankfurt/Main Rotary Club on 8 December 1959. Text in German. INSCRIBED by Nissen on the title page. Wraps. Judging solely by the tipped in photographs, this twenty page survey covers a lot of ground. There are images showing hand-working of metal, torch welding of metal with resulting multiple visual weld patterns, lattice structures, at least two microscopical views (one a section, the other probably a electron microscope view), all the way to ironwork used in structural construction, and ending with a modern home designed staircase and an art installation.

The title translates loosely to: "The Welding: Lecture held before the Rotary Club Frankfurt/Main on December 8, 1959 by Oskar Nissen"

One of those fun oddities we run into in the book business and are pleased to pass along to those with the same sense of discovery and adventure that we have.
