Contemporary sheepskin binding rebacked in plain calf. Front endpaper replaced. Several calligraphic pen trials of the Kersey family and of John S---- of Reydon Hall. A very good copy. First published in 1796, this popular work was still being reprinted in the 1890s. Few copies of any of the early printings have survived.
