About This Item
Berlin: Ullstein GmbH, 1981. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. Third Edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Hardcover, dark blue cloth lettered in light blue on spine, in publisher's blue pictorial dust-jacket. German edition, text in German. 280 pages. Brief Bibliography, Index. Illustrated with photographs and maps. Third reviewed and complete edition. The author's first hand account of serving on board the ill-fated German pocket battleship, from her sea trials to her sinking on her first deployment. Originally published in Germany in 1981, the first English edition appeared a year later. A fascinating, dispassionate chronicle of the life and death of Germany's most famous battleship. Very light foxing to edges of bulked sheets and to blank verso of dust-jacket, minor toning to white inner dust-jacket flaps. Else a clean, square, fresh and unmarked copy, with no previous ownership marks, no writing or underlining, and a crisp clean interior. Very good in a very good dust-jacket. Text in German. .
